New A/B test result: +10.6% revenue per session
Adding a section to our product pages increased RPS by 10.6%.
I really like A/B testing product pages. They get a lot of traffic, so you get results faster than most of your site’s pages. And because they get more traffic, a lift in revenue per session (RPS) also generates more incremental revenue for your business.
TL;DR: A/B testing products page is worth a lot of money!
Therefore, I’m happy that I unlocked yet another RPS-level on our product pages.
The idea was to use social proof to show, and prove, how easy it is to return and exchange products. I hoped that it added extra credibility relative to just stating how easy it is. In the end, it’s a “decrease the perceived risk of buying our products”-play.
This resulted in this new section at the bottom of our product pages. It’s basically just a repurposed testimonials section.

The results after 75K sessions
Original (without the section): $2.39 revenue per session and 2% probability to be best
New (with the section): $2.65 revenue per session and 98% probability to be best
All in all, a $0.26 lift in RPS. That’s ~$84.795 more revenue/year for this brand. Not bad for a few minutes of work!
